Pamela O’Brien is an award-winning luxury interior designer known for creating custom spaces that blend beauty, functionality, and a deep understanding of her clients’ needs. As the founder of Pamela Hope Designs, she brings a rich background in media and public affairs to her design work, offering a thoughtful and polished perspective that’s been featured in House Beautiful, Houston Chronicle, Wall Street Journal, and more.
Pamela's work spans both residential and commercial interiors, with notable projects including Bellows Corporation, Prosperity Bank, and Allergy and Asthma Associates. In addition to running a successful design firm, she is a sought-after speaker, writer, and regular contributor to Living Cozy.
Deeply engaged in the Houston community, Pamela serves on the advisory board of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health and has held leadership roles with organizations such as Crisis Intervention of Houston, the Houston Symphony Ball, and the University of Houston Honors College. She is also active in historic preservation through her involvement with the Houston Heights Association and Woodland Heights Home Tour.

I have worked with Pamela for years, initially as a vendor rep where we created many beautiful designs together using the products I sold. Pamela has always had a great eye for detail, strong design concepts and knowledge, and leads her team in professionalism. We are currently working on a beautiful home together as the builder/design team where we work side by side together and I have experienced Pamela being a great team player, willing to do whatever she can to satisfy clients while also bringing their vision to life.
Pamela has been with us from the beginning! We bought a 1940s duplex in 2003 and have embarked on a number of "remodels" and additions. The collective wisdom of these experiences is "don't do anything without Pamela". We tried "going it alone" at first and with each project, we learned to trust her more and recognized the incredible value she brings. Most recently, we undertook a major renovation of our downstairs - taking it down to the studs. The result - our new "open concept" kitchen, walk-in pantry, and mud room area is not only beautiful BUT functional! Finally, I feel inspired in my own home and our family is able to spend quality time together without being on top of each other. This has a whole new meaning in the time of Quarantine! Lastly, Pamela has become more to our family than our interior designer, she is a trusted friend - and sometimes marriage counselor!
I work for a large international corporation with a major facility outside of Houston and we have hired Pamela several times to speak with Chinese designers about American design trends. The Chinese designers were very attentive and were very interested in the topic. There was a lot of feedback and a robust question and answer session. Several of the designers had heard her speak previously and still have the memories today. They even shared pictures of the previous event. It was an excellent design exchange and we look forward to having Pamela back again next time!
