We signed on with Bruce after interviewing several well-respected Houston Inner Loop builders. He was referred to us by a mutual acquaintance and also our designer. Seeing some of his other projects, we were a bit worried we couldn't afford him, but after his bid came in we were pleasantly surprised. His pricing was very competitive. His bid, out of all the other builders, included many more things in his standard package. Being a fixed price builder, that's one of the things you worry about (skimping), but not with Bruce. He uses only quality brands and materials (e.g. Carrier AC, Tyvek, Pella windows, etc.). The building process was about as smooth as it could've when building a custom home. Not to say it wasn't without hiccups, but Bruce handled everything in a respectful and honest way. First lesson in custom home building - things will go wrong. The most important quality in a builder is integrity and I will say, Bruce is a man of his word. If something was his fault, he always owned up to it. The second most important quality of a builder is quality and Bruce has that in spades. His subs all were very good quality and reliable. They were also courteous and friendly. His trim carpenter and paint subs were both outstanding. Bruce, in conjunction with Russell, our project manager, was able to complete our custom home in about 10 months time, which was pretty good, considering the very rainy fall and winter we experienced. Without weather delays, I believe we could've finished in 9 months. Since we moved in, Bruce has been very diligent with the punch list. He's not one to cut ties after the final construction draw. From the level of sheetrock finish to the tiling to the paint, Bruce makes a very high quality product. I would not hesitate to recommend Bruce as a builder to any of my friends (and I have!).
Bruce and his team are interested in delighting their customers with some amazing designs and dedicated service. Bruce personally invests time with his clients and really enjoys the process.
