Sky Builders found their niche in the Memorial Villages and West University neighborhoods of Houston where they complete about 50-60 projects each year. As custom remodelers, “we do everything because we’re well-rounded in construction. There’s a wide spread of things we do,” he explained. “We can do a small job and can do a big one, too. Sometimes we need a big job to offset small ones to keep the crew busy.”
We specialize in projects as small as a powder room because of the potential of return business. It’s not unusual for a small project to lead to a major project, he said. The WM started as a fascinating synchrodestiny story in 2018 when designers Wilbanks and Mackay met at an industry event and connected over fashion. From there, a year passed while Wilbanks began working with a business coach, and Mackay attended a business conference where both were encouraged to step outside of their comfort zones, get very clear about their desires for their future business, and put all of these things down on a vision board down to the last detail. Mackay reached out to Wilbanks, recognizing a shared passion for modern design that seduces the senses and creates the best life for clients.
