As the daughter of an architect, Diana lived with and around good design from an early age. In 2007, during the economic downturn, two of the partners of SGB were building homes for a production builder in suburbs of Houston. Due to the uncertainty in the market at the time, and the desire to build more architect/client designed homes, they made the decision to leave the production world and start something new. Focused mainly on small jobs and insurance repairs from a recent hurricane, SGB began building its processes and procedures as well as its portfolio as a reputable builder in the Houston area. After a purchase and flip of a 1920’s bungalow in the historic district of the Houston Heights, larger projects began to make their way to SGB and they spent the next several years executing large addition/remodel and new construction projects in and out of the historic districts of the Heights.
