In 2007, during the economic downturn, two of the partners of SGB were building homes for a production builder in suburbs of Houston. Due to the uncertainty in the market at the time, and the desire to build more architect/client designed homes, they made the decision to leave the production world and start something new. Focused mainly on small jobs and insurance repairs from a recent hurricane, SGB began building its processes and procedures as well as its portfolio as a reputable builder in the Houston area.
